Cleveland, OH. The International Children’s Games and its 3000 young competitors from around the world are coming to America for the first time ever! In addition to Cleveland having the honor of being chosen as the exclusive venue for the events, Cleveland’s own Rascal House Pizza has been chosen as the exclusive food vender for the World’s Largest International Pizza Party following the competition. For almost 25 years, Rascal House Pizza has been proud to serve the Greater Cleveland community. Now owner Mike Frangos can hardly hold back his enthusiasm for the opportunity to represent the city in serving the world community. “Our slogan has always been “…best when shared with friends!” says Mike Frangos, owner of Rascal House Pizza. “It’s even better when shared with 3000 young friends from over 50 countries.”

The pizza party will be held at the International Festival Village on Malls B and C in downtown Cleveland. Rascal House will provide complimentary food and drinks to all VIP’s, coaches and athletes who attend on Monday August 2nd from 7-10pm . The Children’s Games are for athletes 12-15 years of age and are endorsed by the International Olympic Committee. Started in 1968 in Yugoslavia and held annually at locations around the world, the games are intended to promote peace and foster cultural exchange. Competitions are held in many of the same events as the Olympic Games, and include archery, tennis, track & field, softball, wrestling to name just a few. President Bush is scheduled to attend the Games which will run July 30th. through August 2. CLEVELAND: Hundreds of Cleveland’s firefighters and police officers are scheduled to be laid off soon and Rascal House Pizza owner Mike Frangos is saddened for the family’s of these brave men and women. “It’s the holidays, and the people who have protected our homes and our lives in the past are going through a tough time during what should be a season of gift giving and celebration.” Said Frangos.

Frangos has a plan: to give a slice of the profits of each pizza sold to family’s of Cleveland’s laid-off safety enforcers. “A half dollar for any size pizza sold will go to help families over the holidays from now through December 31st”,. says Frangos. “It’s the very least I can do.” “They’ve protected and helped us over the years and now it’s our turn to give something back.” But Frangos doesn’t want the buck to stop at Rascal House Pizza. “I would welcome other restaurants to do the same thing. Together we can be a major force in brightening the holidays for the families of our local heroes.”

Rascal House Pizza first opened in 1980 on Euclid Avenue and quickly became a hot spot for CSU students. In the past few years, new franchises have opened in University Heights, at University Circle and in the city of Euclid. “Our ultimate goal is to have franchises around the city and around the state,” says Frangos. “But right now I am concerned for the community as a whole and feel it is important for us all to help in what ever way we can.” We can’t help the city with their financial woes but we can help a couple of the city’s families.” Rascal House will also take donations at all of their locations and 100% will go directly to the families.
